Reds Racing tips 14-11

Evening all,

Bit earlier than normal but Saturday's selections are here. Day two of the Open meeting at Cheltenham and the feature race, the Paddy Power Gold Cup, looks a decent race. Some nice types racing on the entire card, in fact and there's a good card in Ireland as well.

Friday's racing displayed a few nice types around Cheltenham. More Of That and Shantou Village were both pretty impressive, especially the latter, bounding away up the hill in impressive fashion. The cross country race was an attritional affair, with Valadom running impressively off the front and nearly making it all the way. I mentioned him in Friday's blog and hopefully a few of you got on at the each way price. Double W's also ran into a place at big odds, but unfortunately no winners at Cheltenham.

Saturday's opener is a small field Grade 2 Hurdle with only five runners, but it's a competitive affair, but Oceane might able to make the step up. He's performed well on the flat and that experience might help him on the run in. The second race only features one extra runner, but it's no less quality wise. Vincente might struggle, conceding weight to all others. David Pipe and Tom Scudamore won this last year and French Champion Hurdler Un Temps Pour Tout may well have the scope to claim this, assuming he takes to the bigger obstacles. The third race on the card is a Grade Three chase and Sego Success has the benefit of a recent run out and ran well at the Festival here in March before making a mistake. The feature race is the Paddy Power Gold Cup and there's a few here with chances. Monetaire hasn't got much weight to carry compared to some of his rivals and although his form figures aren't special, he was second at the Festival and gave a good account of himself that time. At a bigger price and a lot more weight, Sound Investment might give you a good run for you money as well. The three o'clock could go the way of Morito Du Berlais at a big price. He won the next race on the card last year and Harry Cobden takes a useful seven pounds, which may just see him home. Milan Bound will be a big threat though. The penultimate race has a few recent winners in it and Western Way won't lack for fitness. His form figures look pretty good and although he will need a career best, he could step up to the plate. The final race is a bumper and there will be plenty of interest in the two Mullins runners of which Snag List looks a promising type. He breezed up at Gowran last time out and is one to keep an eye out for.

All selections are below and good luck to every one.
