Reds Racing Tips 07-09

Morning all,

A terrible day yesterday, with a few fancied runners just missing out or falling while in contention. Tracker horse Stephanie Frances was so close to giving away nearly two stone, but couldn't quite get her head up at the line, while the other one, Taglietelle refused to jump four out. The NAP, NB & 3B all made the frame, but none of them were put up at an E/W price, so they go down as a loss as well. All in all, it was a twenty point loss on a big day of racing, but hopefully we can bounce back today.

Just the one jumps meeting from Uttoxeter today and although the St Leger festival kicks off at Doncaster, I'll be watching that rather than betting on it. 

We start off with the NAP, Skylander, who was a good second last week at Sedgefield, despite nearly unseating his jockey midway through the race. He runs off the same mark here, down in class. David Pipe's yard is in pretty decent form and hopefully Skylander can go one better than last week. 

The next best runs in the 3.50. Dovils Date breezed up by ten lengths last week at Southwell under the same jockey and has an excellent chance to follow up under a penalty. He's due to go up even more, so now is probably a good time to catch him to follow up.

Finally a mention for my selection int he 3.15, newcomer State The Obvious. Her dam, who ran twice over fences in France is a half-sister to the high class hurdler Quevega. By Presenting, this one makes for a very interesting newcomer for JP McManus and could make an impact on debut.
