Not a great day yesterday, despite a 5/1 winner in Canton Prince. The NAP was disappointing, while the Next Best could only manage a very distant second. But such things happen and we go again today.
The only jumps today come from North of the border in Perth and my first port of call is the lucky last for the NAP. No Such Number could well take the spoils here. He ran a decent race last time out over C&D and Jamie Hamilton once again takes the ride. He's fit, having had a reasonably recent run. He was dropped four lbs for that run and with the favourite having been off the track for a long time, he could well have the edge in this contest.
The next best is one who I think is overpriced here. Shaiyzar was a good winner over hurdles two starts ago, but was unable to step up in grade under a penalty in the following start. He steps up further in class today, but he takes advantage of a lower mark over fences and showed plenty of promise back in May when second at Hexham. I think he could well run better than the 8/1 Ladbrokes are offering
