Reds Racing Tips 23-01

Evening all,

Four winners in a row at Lingfield made it a good day on Friday, coming away with a ten point profit.No such luck for the best three though, all of them disappointing and finishing out of the frame

Saturday's racing looks very good indeed, with two great cards at Ascot and Haydock and the three best bets all come from the latter meeting. Bristol De Mai has to take on hot form Otago Trail, but I reckon he can come away with the win here. They both have record on the going and distance, but Bristol De Mai has been proven at this sort of level, winning a Grade One over hurdles previously. His only two defeats over fences have come at the hands of Garde La Victoire and Ar Mad. He should relish the challenge of Haydock and I think he will go well here.

The Next Best runs in the big chase of the day, the Peter Marsh and I really fancy Fingal Bay to run a big race. He's had to tough races, including the Hennessy at the end of last year, but he'll love these conditions. He's in off a lovely weight, having been dropped one pound from his latest Ascot run as well. Richard Johnson is engaged elsewhere, so TJ O'Brien takes the ride for the first time, but I don't think that will cause a problem.

Finally in the last, the fixed brush hurdle, Bun Doran should have a great chance. He won on his first run for Tom George in a bumper, staying on strongly. He then came fourth to Buveur D'Air in a maiden hurdle and the form of that race has worked out really well, with a number of runners having gone in since. He's certainly open to improvement and could give Paddy Brennan a great race.
