Reds Racing Tips 14-01

Morning all,

Dreadful day yesterday, with only one winner and the best three bets were reduced to two when Oakley Girl was a non-runner. The other two both lost, so back to the drawing board today.

One tracker horse today and it's Bitofapuzzle, who makes the journey over to Thurles for Harry Fry. She's a nice type and should do well here. Over to the best three bets then and we start in the 1.20 at Catterick. Gully's Edge loves a stamina test and Malcolm Jefferson's charge is sure to get one here in soft conditions. It's raining where I'm at in the North East today, so I can imagine the track getting worse as the day goes on. The selection showed some good form in bumpers previously and makes his hurdles debut today. Still 3/1 with Stan James, so snap it up quickly.

We stay at Catterick for the Next Best, in the 2.20. Always Resolute was impressive on his first start over hurdles on this C&D last time out and is taken to follow up despite top weight. He wasn't as impressive on the flat as some of these, but the manner he won in suggest that this is more his game. There's a few other use flat performers lining up here, but Brian Ellison's charge looks the most exciting

Finally we head to Thurles where Coolnagorna Giggs is an interesting runner in the 3.15. Noel Fehily has travelled over to take the ride on Bitofapuzzle and has picked up this one along side it, which is certainly of interest. The selection was a good second last time out over three miles and slightly worse conditions, beating Witness of Fashion, who has won twice since then. The drop in trip could help him here and a big run will surely see him there or thereabouts.
