Mixed day yesterday with some winners and some placers, but quite a few duds as well. Hoping to get things back on track today and we have five meetings to sink our teeth into.
First up a quick glance at the four tracker horses. L'Ami Serge will relish conditions at Wetherby and should affirm his credentials as an Arkle contender. Unfortunately I can't make it down to Wetherby today, I would've have liked to see him in action. Central Flame also runs in that race, but is not in the same class. At Warwick, Thomas Hobson is out in the 3.00 and although he's not as fancied as the Dan Skelton good thing Born Survivor, I think there's some value in the price. At Naas there's two more Willie Mullins jollies in Sempre Medici, who should really take this, and Pont Alexandre. The latter is probably the most exciting of the lot, but I'm a bit worried about the bounce factor. Roi Des Francs is no slouch and could give him a good race.
Over to the best three for today then and we start at Chelmsford. Judicial was pretty impressive at Kempton in November and is still pretty lightly raced for a four year old. He's three from five over this distance, two from two on the all weather and should really be the one to beat. I'm amazed he's still available at 7/2
Wetherby next and in the 1.30, Nebula Storm looks to have a good opportunity. He won at Southwell in November before following that up with a second in a better race at Market Rasen behind Renoyr. He's gone in the weights again, but only two pounds this time and Harry Cobden claims a useful seven back off. He's a good jockey and could well steer the selection to victory
Finally we go to Warwick where Pobbles Bay appeals in the 2.25. He won last time out in the bog of Ffos Las and has less of a burden to shoulder here than some of his market rivals. He's still improving and Evan Williams and Adam Wedge have been in decent form of late.
