Morning all,
Not the greatest of days yesterday, despite starting off with an 8/1 winner. The NAP Un Noble was victorious however, and next best Crosse Fire placed to avoid any loses, but otherwise it wasn't the best effort.
Today gives us a lot more chances, with four meetings going (after Newbury fell victim to frost). The best three come from Musselburgh and Lingfield today, with the NAP running over jumps at the first venue. Shrewd won very impressively on his hurdles debut over C&D last time out and although he's been hit with a massive 15 lb rise in the weights, that may not be enough to stop him. Holly Brush Henry rates the obvious danger, but that rival has to carry a stone more than the selection and that could well be too much.
The Next Best runs in the last at Lingfield. I fancy Hierarch to upset the odds here and beat the well fancied Exalted. Both winners last time out, the selection has course and distance form, while Exalted has never won over this distance. That extra experience should stand Hierarch in good stead and could well make the difference
In the 1.35 at the same venue, Be Royale will look to build on a fourth place finish last time out. Cathy Gannon is a jockey in terrific form and I'm hoping that first time cheekpieces can spark a bit of improvement for Mick Appleby's mare. Certainly some each way value there.
