Reds Racing Tips 28-02

Morning all,

An excellent day yesterday, culminating in nearly 25 points profit from eight winners and six EW selections that placed. There was disappointment though, with none of the best three coming home for a profit. The NAP shaped as if something was amiss and didn't run his race, while the NB seemed to run out of steam on the home straight. Finally the 3B was a distant second, having drifted to an EW price, but I'd put him up as a win only, so that doesn't help us! The tracker horses fared better, with two winners and a place.

I've got another five tracker horses going today, including four in a row at Leopardstown. All of them have a pretty good chance. As for the best three, we start those at Leopardstown as well. Fr Humphrey has a great chance in the 4.30. He's won his last two starts and although he's now rated a full sixteen lbs higher than before those wins, he's still open to further improvement. He's got the exciting young Jack Kennedy on board and he's been making waves this season. The selection seemed to have plenty in hand when winning by four lengths last time out. That run came after a break, so he does go well fresh and I expect a big run today.

We go over to Southwell next, where we go to obstacles for a change. I'm interested in Mount Shamsan in the 4.10. He's not been impressive over hurdles so far, but there was some hint of a promise there. He grabbed a win on the flat in October and a few of those have ran well. I'm hoping that a first time outing in handicap company could improve his efforts and he shows up well here.

Finally in the closing bumper at Southwell, Bella Girino makes appeal on paper. The Yeats filly is well-related to a couple of winners, like Theo's Charm and Dan Skelton's yard usually have their runners ready on debut. Bridget Andrews takes five lbs off to add to the selections age and sex allowance and that could well make the difference today.
