Red Racing Tips 23-02

Morning all,

Not the best of days yesterday, a loss of twelve points means we drop below the 100 points profit mark for the month. The best three didn't fare much better with a pulled up, fourth and ninth as their results. Let's hope for better today.

Three meetings and we start off with two tracker horses, both running at Taunton. Robinesse ran well behind Jessber's Dream last time out and that one has notched up a win in a grade two since then. She should go well here today. The race after that, we have Royal Vacation. He was well beaten on his last two starts, by Yanworth and Champers on Ice and he could be an interesting prospect now handicapping.

We stay at Taunton for the NAP, Oscar Jane. She's the only one with C&D form, having won here twice already this season, the last of those by eight lengths on her previous start. David Noonan stays on board and a seven lbs hike in the weights doesn't seem enough to stop her in this company.

The NB comes from Wetherby and I'm a big fan of Malcolm Jefferson's yard. Since the 31st of January he has saddled seven runners and they've all finished first or second. Retrieve the Stick is an attractive proposition on that basis. She won at Sedgefield in November, before disappointing at Kelso the next time. But she bounced back to be second at Newcastle and if she's sharpened up her jumping she should be a player again today.

Finally, I think Whisky Marmalade could well run a big race in the 3.30 at Wolverhampton. It's a pretty open race, but with C&D form to her name and not so much exposure over this distance, she could defy a four lbs rise in the weights to follow up.
