Reds Racing Tips 27-02

Evening all,

Dreadful day on Friday, with again a lot of win only bets drifting and placing. That cost us thirty points for the day, but the blog still has a profit of 75 points for the month.

Saturday is a busy day with plenty of decent races. Five tracker horses are lined up to go and they should have a fighting chance. The Adonis at Kempton should be a cracking race, with highly fancied Gibralfaro taking on big buy Zubayr in what will no doubt shape the Triumph market. At a big price, Southfield Vic will hopefully run a big race returned over hurdles. He's been a beaten favourite over fences three times, but was in terrific form over hurdles lasy year and hopefully the return to smaller obstacles can see some revival. Others worth mentioning are Portrait King in the Eider and Theatre Guide in the BetBright Chase. The former won this in 2012 and he is a dour stayer who will certainly see out this trip. Brian Hughes is on board and he's a cracking jockey around the Northern tracks and should be good value here. The latter drops back down from graded company, having finished behind Smad Place twice, but he's a strong stayer and he could well run a big race in this company.

The NAP is Bun Doran in the 3.25 at Newcastle. He was very impressive in dire conditions at Haydock and with Davy Russell booked, he should run a big race. He made his hurdles debut in a very strong race, finishing fourth behind three subsequent winners and improved on that to win the Haydock race. The step up in trip should be no problem considering the way he saw out his race last time and he could be an exciting one for the future.

The NB comes from Navan. Eiri Na Casca fell when beaten last time out, but he might've run on for a place. But the run before that he won well, staying on strongly to beat a subsequent winner in Finea. If he's none the worse for his fall on that occasion, he could have another big run in him and with Sean Flanagan on board he should have an excellent chance.

Finally, a speculative one from the last at Chepstow. Geordie Des Champs is a son of Robin Des Champs, the sire of Vautour amongst others. David Mullins rides four for Rebecca Curtis, including O'Faolains Boy and this one. He was bought for 68,000 euro's as a three your old and well related on the Dams side. There's some more experiences runners in this field, but hopefully the selection can give a good account first time out.
