Reds Racing Tips 12-04

Morning all,

A day to forget yesterday as I was clearly in need of the run after a break. The NAP ended up a non-runner, the Next Best was a distant second behind a rampant Mountain Bell and Miss van Gogh was disappointing as the 3B.

The best three all come from a good card at Newmarket today and let's hope all my selections fare a bit better than yesterday.

We start with the NAP in the Nell Gwyn Stakes where I really like Nathra. She won with plenty in hand on her first two starts and was only beaten by Minding in her latest appearance. She lost out by four and half lengths that day, but was still well ahead of the re opposing Coolmore. Illuminate is the obvious danger, but she carries a penalty and that may be enough to see her off.

The NB comes from the final race at Newmarket. Jufn won easy as you like last time out, despite doing everything wrong at the start and still being well behind through half way. He finished like a bullet though and if he can sort out his starting efforts, he could well romp away with this.

Finally, we go to the opener where there is a number of interesting runners, including the likes of Lacey's Lane and Swiss Range. The pick however is Golden Reign for William Haggas and Ryan Moore. A full sister to Eastern Belle and a half sister to last year's superstar Golden Horn, she is obviously well-related and the booking of Moore inspires confidence. At 6/1 she's worth a bit of each way thievery!
